The role as a Risk Manager is one of being the 'conscience' of the organization. A Risk Manager can provide support by reminding people to make decisions and take actions that reflect good common sense and to recognize the necessity to provide a safe environment for the participants within the rules and regulations of your organization. The Risk Manager can be the consistent voice for fairness, responsibility, and safety in the operation of hockey within your community.
As we approach the 2014-2015 season, BC Hockey would like to remind our members of the vast amount of resource materials available to assist Risk Managers carry out their duties. These materials are all found on the Risk Management page of the BC Hockey website Risk Management and on the BC Hockey APP for Apple Devices, for Android Devices. We strongly encourage Risk Managers to take the time to review all of these materials.
Best wishes for an enjoyable hockey season and thank you for taking on this important position with your team, league or association. Individually and together risk managers work to ensure participants in hockey have an enjoyable and safe experience.
